The Blue Cave, or Modra spilja, is located in Balun bay on the eastern side of the isle of Bisevo, not far from the isle of Vis.
The cave has been open to visit since 1884, when an external entrance into the cave was made.
You can get into the Blue cave of the isle of Bisevo only by rowboat.
In the southern part of the cave, because of the elevation difference, you can see sunlight from the water of the sea.
The wonderful play of sunlight, which is reflected from the white bottom of the sea, creates enchanting blue light from under water, and the cave itself with silvery light.
The Blue cave is 3-20 m deep.
The cave is not deep, and this is why the cave is suitable for diving, to people of various levels of skill.
The Blue cave (Modra spilja) is the most famous landmark of the isle of Vis of Croatia.
The isle of Bisevo with its romantic natural shores, vineyards and pine forest smells is a real paradise for rest.
