Barac caves or Baraćeve špilje by Croatian language is situated next to Nova Krslja village of Kvarner region, 6 km to the east of the town of Rakovica (not far from the A1 Zagreb-Split highway).
Barac caves were first mentioned in 1874.
The caves was opened for sightseer in 1892, but then forgotten during the Second World War.
Baraceve caves are karst caves, their total length is 27 km. There are 3 caves: Upper, Lower, and New, which has a different name the Third.
In 2004 the caves were reopened for guests, 112 years later.

in March – on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 10:00-16:00
in April – every day – 10:00-16:00
in May – every day – 10:00-18:00
in June – every day – 10:00-18:00
in July & August – every day – 9:00-19:00
in September – every day – 10:00-18:00
in October – on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 10:00-16:00
